I don’t know why it is, but lately I’ve been praying more psalms at a time than I usually do in the Daily Office — 2, 3 or even sometimes 4 at a time, instead of just one. I seem to be picking up speed as I go through the Psalter this time. (I’m on my sixth trip through the Psalter since October of 2010.) Whether it’s the new baby coming, the extra busyness at church lately, or an increasing awareness that our Lord’s return is drawing ever closer (an awareness that’s helped on by Advent) — I seem to need it more lately. But it’s a good thing.

Come, O Lord, and make no tarrying; loosen the bonds of Thy people Israel.
