I ran into one of our members, a farmer, at the garage in town here yesterday. We chatted briefly, and he told me to pray for rain — “we need it.” So I prayed, and early this morning, around 3:30 am, it rained. It rained pretty hard. I don’t know how much we got but it lasted for a while. We ask, God answers. Don’t need to catch Him in the right mood or tiptoe around Him as we do with the temperamental, fallible people in our lives. Ask and it will be given to you. Seems pretty simple to me.
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. (James 5:17-18 kjv)
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (John 15:7 kjv)
