VP Joe Biden stopped by Greenfield at Kopps Custard on Friday as part of his campaigning on behalf of Senator Russ Feingold. He got more of a response than he anticipated, though:

Anyone who’s lived in Milwaukee for any length of time knows Kopps. They are legendary. Their burgers are some of the best you’ll ever have, and the custard is simply amazing. Their parking lot is always packed, and there’s always a twenty-minute wait minimum to order, but it’s totally worth it. When I worked at a hotel in Milwaukee as a bellman/van driver, if people wanted a place for burgers I always suggested Kopps first. Guests were never disappointed. Fun fact: Kopps invented the concept of the “flavor of the day.”

(Kitts, on 70th & Capitol, is still better than Kopps. But don’t tell anyone.)
